Syscoin was started back in 2014 by a person named Sebastian Schepis. He was one of the co-founders of a company that made a software called Oracle Project Manager, which helps big businesses manage their projects. After that, Sebastian worked with other big companies like Lockheed-Martin, Bank of America, and Verizon Wireless.

Nowadays, Syscoin is managed by a non-profit organization called the Syscoin Foundation. The people in charge of the foundation include Jagdeep Sidhu, who is the president and main developer, and Michiel Näring, who is the vice president. They oversee the development and direction of Syscoin as an open-source project.
